“entre nous” is a ongoing series gathering fine porcelain light objects that softly inhabit a space, standing, hanging, or leaning like quiet companions. their forms emerge from intimate domestic infrastructures: water pipes, faucet handles, vessels, and the memories of the curved pipe of my grandmother’s stove, objects often overlooked, yet essential in facilitating the everyday rituals of care.

These are the unheroic things that sustain us, carrying water, holding warmth, containing food, enabling care, and while we have told the stories of the hero enough, this work turns toward other narratives, rooted in the quiet persistence of what supports life from within.

They are present in kitchens and bathrooms, in bowls and pots, in spoons, sinks, toilets, and medicine jars. Made from porcelain – a material at once precious and deeply familiar – they move between fragility and durability, between the ceremonial and the everyday.

Recast and internally lit, these forms become luminous and tender. each object holds a quiet presence, an affective node within space. they evoke conversations unfolding around a stove, the intimacy of shared meals, the gentle protection of spaces where one can simply breathe.

“entre nous” proposes that these everyday rituals of care are not peripheral, but foundational. that community is built in these moments, in the repetition of gestures, in proximity, in shared sustenance.

In a time marked by systemic violence and disconnection, the work insists on a different form of resistance – one grounded in healing, relationality, and attention. these lights do not seek optimization or spectacle. instead, they hold space. they carry stories. they remind us that the infrastructures sustaining life – material and emotional alike – are often quiet, often invisible, and deeply powerful.
